‘It Went So Well’: Kid Rock Dishes The Dirt on His White House Dinner With Trump and Bill Maher (VIDEO)

Kid Rock has dished the dirt on his White House dinner with President Trump and the liberal comedian Bill Maher.

Despite being a long-time critic of Trump and the MAGA movement, Maher agreed to meet with Trump and Dana White at the White House.

The meeting was engineered by Kid Rock, who is a fervent supporter of Trump and also a close friend of Bill Maher.

Appearing on the Fox News channel on Tuesday, Stuart Varney asked him how the meeting had gone.

He explained:

It went so well. We talked about a lot of things that we had in common, which Bill Maher’s a big supporter of Trump’s stance on the border, of ending wokeism.

The President even asked him about policy, like what he thought with Iran getting a nuclear weapon and how Israel should react.

Bill’s a big supporter of Israel. We broke bread and talked about things we had in common, and it could not have been more cordial, more nice. I think everyone was so pleasantly surprised.

I mean, it was so nice to have my friend Dana White there, and Dana goes, you know, he told me, he goes, Bob, you did the right thing here. This was a good thing. Because everyone was a little suspect about it.

Even the President had called me a few days ago, and he goes, what the hell you got me doing here? And I’m like, I’m just trying to break bread with some of our biggest critics and say, like, hey, it’s okay to talk to one another, you know?

We can maybe, just maybe bring a little bit of civility back to this country for reasonable people. How do you maintain a friendship with Bill Maher, because you’re very different on politics, I think.

While Maher is a registered Democrat and supports the party across every election cycle, he is also well known for holding more sensible positions on matters including free speech, wokeism, immigration and Islam.

Ahead of the meeting, Maher compared it to when President Richard Nixon visited China at the height of the Cold War.

“There was nobody who was harder on Trump or more prescient about the fact that he wasn’t going to leave office voluntarily,” he explained. “I have the credentials.”

“But they also respect me because I’m honest about the woke train to crazytown, and I don’t shrink from that, and I’ve also lost a lot of fans for that.”

“The woke people have left the building, and I’m willing to make that sacrifice. But it does give you a certain credibility.”
