WITKOFF EVERYWHERE: Trump’s Special Envoy Leaves High-Stakes Meeting With Putin and Heads Directly to the Iran Nuclear Talks – MSM Calls Him a ‘Novice’, and Too Russian-Friendly

Witkoff had his THIRD meeting with Vladimir Putin yesterday (11).

US President Donald J. Trump’s special envoy Steve Witkoff is getting called by the pro-war MSM the ‘envoy for everything’ (WaPo), and a ‘novice’ who ‘bit more than he can chew’ (The Telegraph).

A day after Witkoff held high-stakes talks with President Vladimir Putin on in St. Petersburg, he is already in Oman leading the nuclear deal negotiations with Iran.

His successful approach is making him a target not only of the political adversaries, but also of the whole diplomatic establishment in the US – not to mention a lot of neo-cons and Rinos.

Reuters reported:

“Putin was shown on state TV greeting Witkoff in St. Petersburg’s presidential library at the start of the negotiations and state news agencies later said the talks lasted more than four hours.

‘The theme of the meeting — aspects of a Ukrainian settlement’, the Kremlin said in a statement after the meeting concluded.”

Probably because Trump knows Witkoff will be branded ‘too pro-Putin’, Trump went out with a tough post on Truth Social: “Russia has to get moving. Too many people DYING, thousands a week, in a terrible and senseless war – A war that should have never happened, and wouldn’t have happened, if I were President!!!”

“A February meeting between Witkoff and Putin culminated with the U.S. envoy flying home with Marc Fogel, an American teacher whom Washington had said was wrongfully detained by Russia.

A Russian-American spa worker Ksenia Karelina, who had been sentenced to 12 years in prison in Russia, was exchanged on Thursday for Arthur Petrov, whom the U.S. had accused of forming a global smuggling ring to transfer sensitive electronics to Russia’s military.”

Witkoff and Russia’s Kirill Dmitriev have kept the détente push alive with frequent meetings.

But what makes Witkoff so effective is also what makes him a target for the USAID-media. His realism – while many rave about wanting a ‘just’ settlement in the Ukraine, he understands the obvious fact that the terms are mostly to be dictated by the winning party, Russia.

In another Reuters report:

“The U.S. special envoy leading talks with Moscow, sat down with President Donald Trump in the White House and delivered a clear message.

The fastest way to broker a ceasefire in Ukraine, said Witkoff, was to support a strategy that would give Russia ownership of four eastern Ukrainian regions it attempted to annex illegally in 2022, two U.S. officials and five people familiar with the situation told Reuters.”

In plain language, the US recognizing the new Russian regions of Kherson, Zaporozhie, Donetsk, and Luhansk, as well as the validity of the referendum held in these regions, is the number one on the Russian list of demands. If the US won’t agree to that, it might as well stand back and let the war play out.

General Keith Kellogg, the president’s Ukraine envoy, is against that notion.

“Witkoff, an old friend of Trump’s who has helped secure key diplomatic victories for the president, has garnered some support from the Republican Party’s Ukraine skeptics but his proposals have stoked outrage among other Republicans who believe the administration has turned too sharply toward Moscow.

Some Republicans on Capitol Hill were so concerned about Witkoff’s apparent pro-Russia stance in the Carlson interview that several called National Security Adviser Mike Waltz and Secretary of State Marco Rubio afterward to complain, according to a person familiar with the calls.”

When Reuters writes about worried ‘Republicans’, it’s literally neo-cons and Rinos.
