DNC Vice Chair David Hogg Says Democracy to Blame For All of America’s Problems (VIDEO)

Democratic National Committee (DNC) vice chair David Hogg just said the quiet part out loud about his feelings about democracy.

The 25-year-old, who rose to fame as an anti-Second Amendment activist in the wake of the Parkland shooting, said in an interview on CBS News that democracy was to blame for America’s problems.

He explained:

We go out there as Democrats all the time and say democracy is the most important thing. We have to defend democracy.

We fail to acknowledge that this generation, democracy is what put us through school shooter drills and school shootings. It’s what’s put us through the climate crisis and so much more.

What we have to do is prove that democracy matters by standing up to the special interests that are killing the American dream and making our young people lose faith, not only in our party, but the future of this country. That is why we’re doing this.

Hogg is, of course, correct when he concedes that democracy is the reason why he and his fellow Democrats are not getting what they want.

As well as Trump winning the presidential election by a landslide, Republicans also won a majority in both the Senate and the House of Representatives in the 2024 election cycle, meaning they have a mandate to enact his policy agenda.

His latest comments come after he announced a $20 million campaign aimed at supporting primary challenges against older, less-energetic Democratic incumbents.

“We have a culture of seniority politics that has created a litmus test of who deserves to be here,” he said in an interview with Politico.

”We need people, regardless of their age, that are here to fight,” he continued.

Such plans have already rattled the Democratic establishment, with former Clinton henchman James Carville calling Hogg a “contemptible little twerp.”

DNC Chair Ken Martin has responded by saying that the party’s longstanding position is that it is the role of primary voters to determine candidates for the general election.

However, Martin also praised Hogg for his “passionate” activism.

“David Hogg is a passionate advocate ,and we are grateful for his service to the Democratic Party, whether it be in his role as a D.N.C. vice chair or in an outside capacity,” he said.
