Tom Homan Obliterates Newark Mayor for Criminal Trespassing at ICE Facility — Slams Left’s “ICE-surrection” as Solidarity with Criminal Illegal Aliens

“He’s not very smart.”

That’s how President Trump’s former Acting ICE Director Tom Homan described Newark Mayor Ras Baraka after the Democrat politician was caught red-handed storming a federal immigration detention facility alongside three far-left House Democrats in what many are calling a brazen act of political theater — and even criminal trespassing.

The incident, now dubbed the “ICE-surrection”, erupted Friday afternoon when Baraka and his entourage physically confronted federal agents at an ICE detention center in New Jersey, screaming about “due process” and waving the Constitution like a prop in a political circus.

But bodycam footage released Saturday tells a much different story — one of aggression, disorder, and dangerous ignorance.

According to News12NJ, Baraka was shouting at agents after he gained entry through the gate.

Interim US Attorney for the District of New Jersey Alina Habba said Mayor Baraka was taken into custody after he ignored multiple warnings from DHS agents.

“The Mayor of Newark, Ras Baraka, committed trespass and ignored multiple warnings from Homeland Security Investigations to remove himself from the ICE detention center in Newark, New Jersey this afternoon. He has willingly chosen to disregard the law. That will not stand in this state. He has been taken into custody. NO ONE IS ABOVE THE LAW,” Alina Habba said.

Mayor Baraka was arrested and charged with federal trespass on Friday, however, more arrests are imminent, the DHS confirmed on Saturday.

“There will likely be more arrests coming. We have bodycam footage of some of these members of Congress assaulting our ICE enforcement officers, including bodyslamming a female ICE officer. We will be showing that to viewers very shortly,” Tricia McLaughlin told CNN.

“If you have that video, are you suggesting members of Congress will be arrested?” CNN asked the DHS spokesperson.

Baraka, who is reportedly eyeing a 2025 run for New Jersey governor, didn’t waste a second exploiting the incident for airtime. Within hours of his confrontation with ICE agents, he appeared on CNN, painting himself as a hero for justice — a laughable performance now completely dismantled by footage of the event and Homan’s fiery response.

During the segment on Fox News Live, Homan minced no words, pointing out the total hypocrisy of Democrats pretending to champion “due process” while interfering with lawful immigration enforcement.

Alicia Acuna: Just watching that body cam video, absolutely incredible to see that that went down. And before we get to it, I’d like you to also hear what the Newark Mayor had to say also in his defense.

Ras Baraka (Clip): We ask them to obey our laws, to obey the policies and rules here in the city and the state of New Jersey, not to run roughshod over the Constitution of the United States, the Bill of Rights, the Fourth, the Fifth, the Fourteenth Amendment, that everybody on this soil deserves due process.

Alicia Acuna: Tom, he’s saying they’re the good guys here.

Tom Homan: Well look, he’s not very smart. I mean, bottom line is, that’s what the facility’s all about. This facility’s about due process.

This facility is where we put illegal aliens, people in the country illegally, first of all, they’re in the country illegally, they’re being detained. And they were screaming and yelling about due process, and fourteenth, and all this in the Constitution. This is where due process happens.

We have to detain them to go through the due process – You know, sometimes seeing a judge, sometimes they already have final orders. It’s ranging removal to their countries and getting travel documents to their country and making sure all the administrative processes are followed. So this is exactly what that facility means.

And I’ll tell you this: I can guarantee you, this facility has higher detention standards than any New Jersey facility. This facility has highest detention standards in the industry. You compare that to any jail in New Jersey and you’d be shocked how high these detention standards are.
