Poland’s Liberal PM Donald Tusk Survives Vote of Confidence Today in Parliament – His Government Is in Disarray After Losing Presidential Election to Maga-Allied Karol Nawrocki

Tusk survived vote of confidence.

Liberal, Globalist and an Eurofanatic, Prime Minister Donald Tusk was elected vowing to dismantle the conservative work done by his predecessors from the conservative Law and Justice party, (PiS).

So far, he hasn’t been able to fully implement the deranged Brussels agenda and, having lost the Presidential elections last month to MAGA-inspired right winger Karol Nawrocki, he is trying to find ways to regain the political initiative.

In Poland, the president can veto legislation, and Tusk’s coalition lacks a big enough parliamentary majority to overturn an eventual presidential veto.

So, Tusk has called for a confidence vote in Parliament to take place today (11), a vote he ‘survived’.

Before the vote, Tusk told lawmakers that his pro-European coalition has the mandate to govern.

Reuters reported:

“Rafal Trzaskowski from Tusk’s Civic Coalition was defeated by nationalist Karol Nawrocki in the June 1 ballot, unleashing recriminations from smaller partners in government and casting doubt over the administration’s future when a hostile president wields the power of veto.

While the ruling alliance’s majority means it is almost certain to win Wednesday’s vote, a SW Research poll for Rzeczpospolita daily showed that around a third of Poles thought Tusk’s government would not survive until the end of its term in 2027.

‘We have a mandate to take full responsibility for what’s going on in Poland’, Tusk said. ‘Governing Poland is a privilege’.”

Tusk’s government hoped for Warsaw mayor Trzaskowski to become President and allow it to fully implement its agenda.

“’This vote of confidence is not an attempt to continue everything we have been doing because we know well after this year and a half that some things can be done better, faster and this vote of confidence should be a new beginning’, he told a government meeting. ‘I would like you to know that for the entire… coalition, this is to be a day of new momentum and I am convinced that you will live up to this task’.”

Former PiS justice minister Zbigniew Ziobro, the man who erected the judicial reforms that Tusk’s government has tried to dismantle, had a blunt message:

“’The lost presidential election is the end of Donald Tusk’, he told reporters. ‘His fate is already sealed’.”

Karol Nawrocki, seen here with US President Dopnald J. Trump, is expected to impede Tusk’s Globalist agenda.

In theory, today’s confidence vote should be nothing but a formality, since Tusk’s coalition has a 12-seat majority in the lower house, and only needs a simple majority to win.

BBC reported:

“Ahead of the vote, Tusk told the house that they could not ‘close their eyes’ to the reality that his government faces ‘greater challenges’ thanks to the election of Karol Nawrocki, who is supported by the Law and Justice (PiS) opposition.

[…] ‘I’m asking you for a vote of confidence because I have the conviction, faith and certainty that we have a mandate to govern, to take full responsibility for what is happening in Poland’, Tusk said. ‘We are facing two and a half years, in difficult conditions, of full mobilization and full responsibility’, he added.

UPDATE: Tusk wind confidence vote.

Telegraph reported:

“On Wednesday, a total of 243 MPs in the 460-seat parliament backed Mr Tusk’s coalition, achieving the simple majority needed for the government to survive in a result he said will give his cabinet new momentum.

[…] But despite surviving the vote, the prime minister now faces two and a half years of being a lame duck leader hobbled by the new veto-wielding opposition president.
