The fifth week of court ended today with a brief visit by fellow rapper Kenye West, and the revelation that Judge Arun Subramanian will indeed dismiss one of the jurors on Monday.
Judge: The Court does not feel further inquiry is required. The reason we have alternate jurors is if questions arise. Where there’s a question like this, removal of the juror is required. The juror will be dismissed, he should not return on Monday

New York Post reported:
“[This comes] after it came to light the person is currently staying in New Jersey despite previously saying he lived in the Bronx. The judge said he spoke with ‘Juror 6’ who told him he ‘recently moved to New Jersey’ to live with his girlfriend.
Previously the panelist said, ‘I live in the Bronx, I live with my fiancé and my baby daughter’, the judge explained.
Subramanian said the snafu shows the juror either ‘can’t follow simple instructions’ or ‘there are serious questions about the juror’s candor’.”
Judge: In voir dire, he said, I live in the Bronx with my fiancee and daughter. There is no reason to lie but to try to get onto the jury. Then on the colloquy he said he had just moved to New Jersey, adding that his daughter had been living in New Jersey

The judge is concerned the juror ‘has an agenda and wants to be [in the trial]’.
According to the NYP report, when the judge announced his decision, Diddy shook his head and held it in his hands.

“But after hearing vigorous argument by Combs’ lawyer, Xavier Donaldson, the judge said he’d let the lawyers know if he changed his mind.
Donaldson argued the juror should remain on the case because if he’s dismissed it will reduce the diversity of the group. But prosecutors said the jury, thankfully, would still be ‘very diverse’.”
