The allegations, amplified on her X account, were based on a report from the Nashville Banner that described the detainee being forced to sleep on the floor and receiving inadequate medical attention.

Assistant DHS Secretary Tricia McLaughlin swiftly debunked these claims, stating that Monterroso-Lemus received full prenatal care and medical attention with documentation to support care was given. DHS further clarified that the illegal alien had a criminal history, including child abuse arrests and an active homicide warrant in Guatemala, undermining Jayapal’s ridiculous narrative.
