Hmm… Bloomberg Reporter Claims President Trump’s Name Redacted in the Epstein Files by the FBI

Another piece by a liberal media outlet alleges that President Trump’s name is in the Epstein files, except his name was redacted on multiple occasions.
This is the latest attempt by the fake news to tie President Trump to Epstein despite the fact that President Trump was NEVER known to perp on young girls. The left is becoming sooo disgusting and pathetic.
Jason Leopold of Bloomberg News says he has sources who have revealed to him that Trump’s name was mentioned several times in the documents, while dozens of other big-name figures also appeared. Leopold did not identify any of the others supposedly in the files.
But FBI personnel decided to black out Trump’s name because he was a private citizen at the time the Epstein investigation was launched nearly two decades ago.
It is important to note that just because Trump was reportedly in the Epstein files DOES NOT mean he did anything illegal. He knew Epstein for a long time before his sordid nature became apparent, after all.
From Leopold:
While reviewing the Epstein files, FBI personnel identified numerous references to Trump in the documents, the people familiar with the matter told me. Dozens of other high-profile public figures also appeared, the people said. (The appearance of Trump’s name or others in the Epstein files is not evidence of a crime or even a suggestion of wrongdoing.)
In preparation for potential public release, the documents then went to a unit of FOIA officers who applied redactions in accordance with the nine exemptions. The people familiar with the matter said that Trump’s name, along with other high-profile individuals, was blacked out because he was a private citizen when the federal investigation of Epstein was launched in 2006.
In particular, the reviewers applied two FOIA exemptions to justify their redactions. The first, Exemption 6, protects individuals against “a clearly unwarranted invasion of personal privacy.” The Supreme Court has said the exemption protects “individuals from the injury and embarrassment” that would result from the disclosure of personal information in possession of the government.
The second, Exemption 7(C), protects personal information contained in law enforcement records, the disclosure of which “could reasonably be expected to constitute an unwarranted invasion of personal privacy.”
The White House did not respond to the Bloomberg story.
It’s also particularly important to note that common practice for government agencies to redact names on privacy grounds, even for public figures like Trump as Leopold himself acknowledges.
This is at least the second time a left-wing media outlet has claimed Trump is in the Epstein files.
As The Gateway Pundit reported, The Wall Street Journal dropped a Trump-Epstein hit piece last month after the DOJ asked three different courts to unseal grand jury transcripts related to Epstein’s sex trafficking cases.
According to The Wall Street Journal, US Attorney General Pam Bondi told President Trump in May that he is mentioned in the Epstein files.
However, Bondi said the information about the several people who appeared in the Epstein files is “unverified hearsay.”
The Justice Department issued an angry denial, calling The Wall Street Journal report a “collection of falsehoods and innuendo designed to push a bulls*it narrative and drive clicks”
