Invasion Burnout: Beachgoers in Spain Help Police Tackle Migrants Jumping From Boats
A wild video scene unfolded at the Sotillo beach in the Granada town of Castell de Ferro in Spain over the weekend.
Shocked sunbathers on the crowded beach watched as about a dozen migrants, some of them hooded, jumped off a boat just offshore and ran through the packed beach.
Spanish paper El Mundo reports (translation via Google Translate):
The incident occurred around 2:00 p.m. when numerous bathers reported the arrival of the boat, which crossed the nautical corridor and stopped a few meters from the shore. At that moment, the occupants, of North African origin, jumped into the water and began fleeing in different directions. Some were hooded, according to witnesses.
Footage shows a black motorboat pulling up to the shallows at Sotillo beach in the Granada town of Castell de Ferro on Sunday afternoon and several migrants, believed to be from North Africa, diving into the sea fully clothed, according to Spanish paper El Mundo.
Video captured by witnesses showed that as the migrants reached the shore, law enforcement chased them, and fed-up beachgoers joined the chase.
One video shows a vacationer holding a migrant on the ground until he could be handed over to Spain’s Civil Guard.
While some were apprehended, reports suggest some of the migrants escaped into the country.
There is increasing tension in Spain, like many European countries, as they grapple with unchecked migration.
The Gateway Pundit reported on riots in July in the southeastern Spanish town of Torre Pacheco following the assault of a 68-year-old pensioner, Domingo Tomás Domínguez, who was beaten up—allegedly “just for fun”—during his morning walk by three Maghrebi youths.
As the migrant issue continues to fester, Spain’s Vox party – maligned in the press as usual as ‘hard-right’, has doubled down on its vow to deport illegal immigrants, declaring that it would ‘also remove foreigners who have not adopted [Spanish] customs’.
Spanish right-wing party vows to deport up to 8 million migrants if elected.
Vox has vowed to expel people of foreign origin who “have not adapted to our customs” and those that “abuse or disrespect women [and] live off the efforts of others.”
