Trump and Putin: will the meeting be fruitful?

The world is looking closely at the Alaska summit.

The day has come: US President Donald J. Trump and Russia’s Vladimir Putin are heading to Anchorage, Alaska, for a summit that, many hope, will open a road for peace in Ukraine, and be a step forward in the renewed diplomatic and economic relations between the two nuclear superpowers.

Trump appears in a good mood, posting about the maximum relevance of the occasion:

During the long flight from DC to Anchorage, Trump had a ‘wondeful’ phone call with Belarusian leader Lukashenko, the closest ally to Putin.

Lukashenko reportedly invited Trump and his family to Minsk, and the US president accepted the invitation.

During the flight, as usual, Trump went back in AF1 to talk to the members of the press who are travelling with him.

Needless to say, most of the questions from the MSM have a negative spin embedded in them: ‘but what if it goes wrong?’

Fox News’ Bret Baier, who was received by Trump in his AF1 office area, was no exception.

So, while all the media hacks will try to spin this as ‘Trump threatens to walk’, this is just a prompted answer, rather than indicative of his very positive mood ahead of the historic meeting.
