AbleChild has recently obtained a copy of the much sought after autopsy results of alleged attempted assassin, Thomas Matthew Crooks. In a word, the autopsy leaves a lot to be desired and, frankly, even with the autopsy, the public still has not been provided physical evidence to, once and for all, indict Thomas Matthew Crooks as the shooter.
First, the autopsy of the alleged shooter was only made public when the Headline USA reporter, Kenneth Silva, filed suit with the Pennsylvania Office of Open Records (OOR) to obtain “the medical examiner case information summary, as well as all lab analysis reports, exam images, pathology reports, histology slide recuts, toxicology reports, and scene images for Thomas Matthew Crooks.” The request also included “all records that document the transportation and chain of custody of Crooks’s body from the crime scene to the Alleghany (sic) County Office of the Medical Examiner or any other coroner’s office, including yours – including all internal communications about this decision.”
As expected, and in keeping with all the other investigative reports and materials surrounding this attempted assassination, the request was denied. Silva appealed and was awarded the right to the autopsy but any information dealing with the “histology slides (which would determine the DNA of the shooter), crime scene photos and exam images were denied.
What is most interesting is that despite the entire free world still blabbing about Thomas Matthew Crooks being the shooter, the data released by the Allegheny County Medical Examiner (ME) not only doesn’t describe how the body autopsied was identified, but admits that the Butler County Coroner, William Young, did not provide written communications about the transport or chain of custody of the deceased. Why?
For the record, neither the Federal Bureau of Investigation (FBI), U.S. Secret Service, Bureau of Alcohol, Tobacco and Firearms (ATF), Pennsylvania State Police (PSP), Butler Police Depts., Butler County Coroner, or the Allegheny County Medical Examiner have publicly provided any physical evidence that conclusively identifies Crooks as the shooter.
It is of interest that Silva was advised that the Butler County Coroner, William Young, attested that his office did not possess any records or communications about the transport of the deceased to the Allegheny County ME. How is that possible? How could the Butler Coroner not have any notes about his communications with the Allegheny County ME about the transport of the deceased? Given that this was an attempted assassination of a former President one might assume that copious notes would be taken… at least for posterities sake. Didn’t happen.
Now recall that it was the Butler County Coroner, William Young, who arrived at the AGR building after midnight on the day of the shooting and was told to return the following morning. Who shooed the coroner away, telling him to come back later? You guessed it. The coroner has never disclosed that information. Nevertheless, Young returned the following morning and arranged to have the body transported to the Allegheny ME in Pittsburgh.
So, here’s the question. What documentation did the Allegheny ME receive on the morning of July 14th, 2024, that convinced him that the body of the deceased before him was that of Thomas Matthew Crooks? The only evidence the ME received was “a clear plastic bag containing medium length brown hair.” And, the autopsy report states, “an Allegheny County Medical Examiner’s identification tag is present around the left ankle.” Great. What does it say and who wrote the tag?
The questions regarding the identification of the alleged shooter are not small. Consider for a moment that at some point the deceased would have been searched. How did the Butler County Coroner identify the deceased? Did he take the word of law enforcement at the scene? Did the alleged shooter have a wallet with identification in it? Were the parents called in to identify the body? Did the fingerprints taken at autopsy match fingerprints of the alleged shooter Thomas Crooks from his employer? Did DNA tests conclude the deceased identification? What’s the big secret? Just make the public aware of how the deceased was identified.
But even when the Allegheny County ME testified before the Congressional Task Force on the Attempted Assassination of Donald J. Trump his recollections seemed odd. For example, in what can only be described as extremely brief testimony, Allegheny County ME Ariel Goldschmidt said, “our office was not involved in the transportation of the decedents, however, once they were transported to our office, the required chain of custody paperwork was processed.” And ME Goldschmidt also reports that “my involvement in the case was limited to the autopsy…I had no reports from or involvement in the investigation into Mr. Crooks’ motives and actions, crime scene evidence or other outside evidence as part of my work.”
It seems odd that the ME would feel the need to explain what the ME’s office was not involved in. It seems odd that the ME would feel the need to explain that his office had nothing to do with transport or chain of custody before the body arrived at the ME’s office.
There is much that the autopsy does not reveal including the results of the gunshot residue tests. Why would that information be withheld? Why is the information relating to the identification of the body a state secret? It is no secret that the deceased alleged shooter’s body lay on the roof of the AGR building all night. Who had chain of command of the body throughout the night? The FBI? The Secret Service? One would think that the Butler County Coroner would want that documented. Nothing.
And, before the body was transported to the Allegheny ME, which law enforcement agency cataloged and recorded all the evidence at the scene and who signed off on the chain of custody forms? Where is all the evidence that was collected at the scene?
It would seem appropriate that state of local police would have had jurisdiction but in this case the FBI apparently took control of the investigation. So, one must wonder why the Pennsylvania State Police are refusing to release its investigation.
But there are processes in all death investigations that all law enforcement follows. Why does the investigation into the attempted assassination of a former President look like amateurs are running the show? Why, with so many law enforcement agencies involved and several medical personnel, both the Butler Coroner and the Allegheny ME, can’t the public get a straight answer?
This is really very simple. Who identified the body of the alleged shooter and what method was utilized to identify the body? This isn’t rocket science. It’s universal procedures of investigation 101 that so far has escaped the reported investigative experts.
