Romania: The Ally America First Can Rely On at the Gates of the Orient

For too long, America’s foreign policy establishment has been obsessed with keeping old, tired alliances alive in Western Europe — even when those allies undermine American interests, bow to Brussels’ dictates, and embrace globalist ideologies that weaken nations and families alike. At the same time, the United States may be overlooking the one European nation that could become one of its strongest partners, its most loyal friend, and its most important strategic asset in the 21st century: Romania.

I speak not as a lobbyist or a bureaucrat, but as the elected President of Romania, whose victory was stolen by the same Soros-backed networks that sought to annul America’s 2020 election, and now seek to erase sovereignty across the globe. My message to America is simple: with Romania as a trusted ally, the United States can secure a commanding position in Europe — economically, militarily, and culturally — without spilling blood or provoking wars.

Constanța: America’s Natural Port at the Black Sea

At the heart of this opportunity lies Constanța, Romania’s Black Sea port — the deepest and most strategically placed in the region. Whoever controls Constanța controls the eastern gateway to Europe. For the United States, this port is not only a naval asset but a commercial lifeline: the perfect hub to secure trade routes, energy flows, and logistics corridors connecting the Mediterranean, the Middle East, and Central Europe.

Linked to Constanța is the Danube–Black Sea Canal, a man-made artery that can be modernized with U.S. expertise into a 21st-century superhighway of commerce. Imagine American companies playing a decisive role in directing the flow of goods from Asia — not by fighting China or Russia head-on, but by controlling the infrastructure through which those goods reach Europe’s markets. That is leverage without war.

No other EU country offers such an opportunity. Germany cannot. France cannot. Only Romania.

A Stabilizer in the Balkans

The Balkans are Europe’s powder keg. From Kosovo to Bosnia, instability lingers — waiting for foreign powers to exploit. Romania is the one nation in this region that has both the credibility and the strength to act as a stabilizer.

Our history in the Byzantine world, our Orthodox traditions, and our cultural connections allow us to lead a “co-prosperity zone” with our neighbors — one that secures peace while countering radical ideologies, extremist movements, and foreign manipulation. America should see Romania not as a client state, but as a pillar of order in a volatile neighborhood.

Energy, Agriculture, and Real Economy

Unlike hollow economies that thrive only on financial speculation, Romania can have a real economy with untapped potential. We are among the world’s oldest oil producers, with expertise in extraction and refining that can complement American energy interests. Our fertile lands can help feed Europe, reducing dependence on unstable suppliers and strengthening food security at a time when it is weaponized by global powers.

With U.S. support, Romania can embrace a Hamiltonian model of development — prioritizing infrastructure, agriculture, and industry over bureaucratic controls from Brussels. This aligns perfectly with President Trump’s America First doctrine: building real wealth, real jobs, and real prosperity.

A Cultural Ally, Not a Globalist Pawn

Unlike much of Western Europe, Romanians are not lost in postmodern confusion and relativism. We are a traditionalist, patriotic people, rooted in faith, family, and nation. Our people do not want to be ruled by Soros-funded NGOs or unelected bureaucrats in Brussels. We want sovereignty, dignity, and partnership with like-minded nations.

That makes us natural allies of a Trump administration. Romania will stand shoulder to shoulder with the United States against globalist cartels, radical ideologies, and the extreme left that seeks to erase borders and traditions. Where others bow to Brussels and Berlin, Romania is ready to stand with Washington.

A Foreign Policy Success Story Waiting to Happen

Washington policymakers often ask: where can America make a strategic investment that yields lasting results? The answer is Romania. By supporting our sovereignty, by investing in our infrastructure, and by elevating Romania to the rank of primary U.S. partner in Europe, America can achieve:

  • A commanding position over Eurasian trade flows through the Black Sea and Danube.
  • A secure anchor on NATO’s eastern flank, facing both Russia and the Middle East.
  • A prosperous and stable Balkans, closing one of the world’s most dangerous loopholes for instability.
  • A cultural and civilizational ally, rooted in the same values that built America itself.

This is not charity. It is realpolitik, America First style.

Conclusion: Romania, the Ally America Deserves

The Deep State will continue to prop up tired old alliances that deliver little but cost much. But President Trump and Vice President Vance have shown the courage to think differently — to prioritize sovereignty, tradition, and prosperity over bureaucracy and ideology.

In that spirit, Romania offers the United States something unique: a partnership of destiny. A nation ready to work with America, not against it. A people ready to fight for faith, family, and freedom. A strategic position that no other ally can match.

The 21st century is being shaped at the crossroads of Eurasia. The United States cannot afford to let this opportunity pass. With Romania as its closest ally in Europe, America will not just defend its interests — it will multiply its power, peacefully and decisively, at the very gates of the Orient.
