The United States is on track to deport 600,000 people by the end of the year, according to President Trump’s border czar Tom Homan.

Homan, who is in charge of delivering on Trump’s promise of deporting millions of illegal aliens, said in an interview with Fox News host Laura Ingraham that he is expecting to reach that by January 20th, 2026, exactly one year after Trump took office.

“As we get more agents on, you will see arrests increase 2X, 3X,” Homan explained. “You’re going to see the numbers skyrocket.”

“We’re going to hit 600,000 real soon, which will be our historic record. And we’re going to keep going.”

“If you’re in the country legally, you’re not off the table,” he continued. “We’ll arrest you too.”

“Over 23,000 missing kids have been found and saved. And we have a record number of arrests and deportations.”

Congress’s 2025 budget reconciliation bill provides over $175 billion for ICE operations through 2029, which will allow the administration to establish a long-term infrastructure that will allow it to carry out its promise of mass deportations.

To put those numbers into context, this budget will surpass the size of most of the world’s militaries, including those of Russia, Italy, Israel, Brazil, and Switzerland.

Another central part of the administration’s plan to achieve its goal of ending illegal immigration is by urging those who are in the country to self-deport.

Last month, the Department of Homeland Security claimed that around 1.6 million illegal aliens had already self-deported since Trump took office, presumably out of fear of arrest and being placed in an ICE holding facility.

“The numbers don’t lie: 2 million illegal aliens have been removed or self-deported in just 250 days — proving that President Trump’s policies and Secretary Noem’s leadership are working and making American communities safe,” Assistant Homeland Security Secretary Tricia McLaughlin said at the time.
