Kari Lake, acting CEO of the Agency for Global Media, speaks during a broadcast, highlighting her role in media leadership.

United States Agency for Global Media CEO Kari Lake recently spoke to The Gateway Pundit about the corruption and taxpayer-funded left-wing Globalist propaganda within her agency, as she continues her many-months-long crusade to expose the rot.

It can be recalled that Lake gave bombshell testimony before the House Foreign Affairs Committee on USAGM’s record of waste, fraud, mismanagement, self-dealing, and national security failures in June, and each day, she is finding more.

Established in 1994, the federal agency oversees taxpayer-funded grantee news outlets, including the Voice of America, the Office of Cuba Broadcasting, the Middle East Broadcasting Networks, Radio Free Asia, and Radio Free Europe/Radio Liberty, with the intent of delivering news and information to people worldwide. However, the news content produced has become infested with leftwing ideology and Globalist propaganda, funded by taxpayers to the tune of nearly $1 billion per year.

Lake recently revealed in a Frank Speech interview that one of the grantees, Radio Free Asia (RFA), shut down its operations and began auctioning off equipment worth thousands of dollars for literal pennies, while falsely claiming that it was necessary because the US government had not paid them. Lake, however, shut down the auction and sent in auditors to “find out where every single penny went,” she said.

While speaking to The Gateway Pundit, Lake explained that RFA was attempting to offload “millions of dollars worth of equipment that was paid for by the taxpayer” from “HD cameras that cost thousands– in some cases tens of thousands of dollars– to teleprompters, to full-on, literally news sets for pennies!” This presents a national security issue, Lake said, explaining that equipment, such as hard drives and laptops, cannot simply be sold off by the independent entity “unless we have verification that they’ve been cleaned and scrubbed of any data and information that could be problematic if it got into the wrong hands.”

And despite RFA’s claims that they stopped programming and began auctioning equipment because they weren’t receiving money, Lake says, “we have paid them every single penny that was appropriated to them.”

She also revealed the “interesting” timing of their move to end news coverage and begin the fire sale, which coincided with President Trump’s visit to Busan, South Korea, for the 2025 APEC Summit, where he participated in high-stakes meetings with various Asian leaders, including Chinese President Xi Jinping. “It was right before, just a few days before, President Trump’s historic trip to Asia, his five-day trip, where he did amazing things, like signing peace agreements, signing amazing trade agreements with many Asian countries,” Lake told The Gateway Pundit. “It was really a good news tour for the President, which they did not cover because they said we didn’t pay them.” This makes sense for a USAGM grantee that Lake says “has not always been in alignment with our foreign policy” and is guilty of pushing “anti-American” and “pro-CCP coverage.”

Additionally, it was recently revealed that another USAGM grantee, Radio Free Europe (RFE), had been using its Hungarian-language service, Szabad Europa, to undermine US ally Hungary’s conservative Prime Minister, Viktor Orban, with Globalist propaganda meant “to destabilize that country,” Lake said.

As The Gateway Pundit reported, Lake notified Congress that USAGM is terminating Szabad Europa, writing, “It is the position of the Trump Administration that the original justification for adding Szabad Europa to RFE/RL’s programming lineup in 2019 is not aligned with U.S. national interests.” Her congressional notification letter continues, “This programming has undermined President Trump’s foreign policy by opposing the duly elected Prime Minister of Hungary, Viktor Orbán. As you know, Prime Minister Orbán was (and is) the leader of Hungary, which is both a strong U.S. ally and a member of the North Atlantic Treaty Organization (NATO).”

NEW: Kari Lake Axes Hungarian Language Radio Free Europe/Radio Liberty Propaganda Outlet for Attempting to Undermine Conservative PM Viktor Orbán and Destabilize Hungary’s Nationalist Government

“Why are American taxpayer dollars going to Radio Free Europe for them to produce news inside of Hungary, to destabilize that country, that government? It’s because they hate Viktor Orban because he cares about the people of his country, and he’s not a globalist,” Lake told The Gateway Pundit. “Radio Free Europe has been doing globalist news, has been doing pro-EU globalist news, and they hate it when somebody like a Viktor Orban or President Trump comes in and says, ‘We are nationalists. We’re going to put our country first.'”

In response to Democrat Rep. Pramila Jayapal (D-WA) bashing Orban as a “dictator” whose Nationalist policies “erode Democracy” and seemingly pushing for regime change during a House Foreign Affairs Committee Hearing earlier this year, Lake noted that “She showed her cards there because it shows that she is pro-invasion of Western countries. She wants to see this continued border invasion of all countries of the world. It’s really the globalist agenda, and that is what she’s for.”

“I have inquired about what elections are like in Hungary, and I’m sure that it would be really upsetting to the gentle Congresswoman, they have one-day election paper votes. And they count there, right there, in small precincts, I guess is what we call them. So, they do have as close to fair elections as possible, not using the machines. And all of the problems we have, they don’t have,” Lake said of Jayapal’s attack against free and fair elections.

Lake further responded to the recent antics of Arizona’s Democratic Senators, Mark Kelly, who is currently under investigation for urging military members to defy President Trump’s lawful orders, and Ruben Gallego, who responded to the ongoing investigation in an unhinged, expletive-laden video message and has amplified Kelly’s calls for military sedition.

Mark Kelly “made up his mind to put out content that was seditious,” Lake said. “He made the bed; he’s got a lie in it.”

She described Ruben Gallego’s response as “disrespectful” and “an embarrassment” to Arizona and the entire country. “His father is a convicted felon, Mexican drug cartel trafficker, and that’s where this guy comes from,” she added.

“The guy is a moron! And I’m embarrassed for the people of Arizona, and when we start to dig further into the election fraud that’s been happening for a long time in Arizona, I think there’s gonna be some hell to pay.”

Conradson: Radio Free Asia, you’ve discussed that what they’re doing is they’re auctioning off these tens of thousands of dollars worth of taxpayer-purchased equipment for literal pennies. What’s going on there, and what’s the latest development?

Lake: Well, Radio Free Asia, like Radio Free Europe/Radio Liberty is one of our grantees. It’s a nonprofit, basically, company that we fund that— I should say you, the American taxpayer, funds in its entirety. They get, I believe it was $60 million last year, Radio Free Asia, from the hard working men and women across this country to produce news content in Asia, and we’ve paid them every single penny, but they are claiming that we haven’t paid them, and therefore, they’re saying that they have to sell off all of this, you know, really hundreds of thousands, actually millions, of dollars in equipment that was also paid for by the American taxpayer. They’re telling the press, they’re going to the press, going around us to the press, and telling them that we haven’t paid even though we have paid them every single penny that was appropriated to them.

And they even went so far as to stop programming, stop their news programming, covering Asia, and alerted us they were doing that, and they said, because we haven’t paid them, even though we have paid them. And it was really interesting, the timing that they decided to shut down their news operation and stop reporting news. It was right before, just a few days before, President Trump’s historic trip to Asia, his five-day trip, where he did amazing things, like signing peace agreements, signing amazing trade agreements with many Asian countries. And it was really a good news tour for the President, which they did not cover because they said we didn’t pay them. And then I think the straw that broke the camel’s back is when we discovered they were auctioning off expensive equipment, literally hundreds upon hundreds of pieces of equipment, from HD cameras that cost thousands, in some cases tens of thousands of dollars, to teleprompters, to full on literally news sets for pennies! They had HD cameras listed for 80 cents at this auction. That is giving it away, and the American taxpayer has paid for this. They, in their statement, claimed that they would start things back up once they got their funding.

So, we have— we were furious when we got this information. Not only is it a national security risk to auction off things like hard drives and laptops, unless we have verification that they’ve been cleaned and scrubbed of any data and information that could be problematic if it got into the wrong hands. We forced them to shut down and halt that auction of basically giving away taxpayer-funded equipment, and we have sent in a team of auditors. It came knocking at their door this week, a team of auditors to find out and go in and find out where every penny has gone. I’m so sick and tired of watching the American taxpayer be slapped in the face by the people in this town, Washington, DC. And I will do everything in my power to make sure that the American taxpayer is respected, that each and every penny that is spent is spent wisely, and they’re not happy with that, Jordan. They don’t like me because of that. We’ve just recently had to come down on these nonprofits, saying, “Hey, look, we’re not just a pass-through where you put a gun to our head and say, give us the money. We are reliant on taxpayer money, and we really owe our existence to the American taxpayer. We’re not going to disrespect them any longer.”

Conradson: This actually reminds me of when the Biden administration sold border wall scraps that were left on the ground in the desert in Arizona and Texas for pennies on the dollar. Why do you think these people are so careless and literally abusive to the American taxpayers who pay their bills?

Lake: I believe when you talk about the border wall, I mean talk about getting your blood boiling, watching that being given away while we had a literal invasion at our border, with a lot of bad people pouring across. And rather than finish the wall, which was really could have been finished in weeks, if not a few months, they gave that away. In this case, you know, I think the content that has been being produced by places like Radio Free Europe and Radio Free Asia has not always been in alignment with our foreign policy. And it’s not always been pro-America. In many cases, it’s been anti-American coverage. In many cases, it’s been pro-CCP coverage. Can you imagine that the hard working truck driver who works the overnight shift in Arizona, the farmer in Iowa who toils the land to eek out of living, the part time nurse in, you know, Ohio— you name it, all across this country, the fishermen in Florida— paying their taxes and finding out even one second of pro CCP content went out at the US Agency for global media, whether it be Radio Free Asia, Radio Free Europe, Voice of America?

It’s alarming, it’s shocking, and it’s got to end. We want to see the content improved. We want to see that we’re not going after our allies. For example, I sent out a letter to Congress, a congressional notification telling them we’re ending the Hungarian language service that Radio Free Europe had been doing for the past several years in Hungary, and it was really meant to bring destabilization to Hungary, which is a good ally of ours. Why are American taxpayer dollars going to Radio Free Europe for them to produce news inside of Hungary, to destabilize that country, that government? It’s because they hate Viktor Orban because he cares about the people of his country, and he’s not a globalist. Radio Free Europe has been doing globalist news, has been doing pro-EU globalist news, and they hate it when somebody like a Viktor Orban or President Trump comes in and says, “We are nationalists. We’re going to put our country first.”

[Rep. Pramila Jayapal] is saying, Orban is a dictator. It’s your job to oppose him and somehow stop him and take him down. Is that what they were trying to do with this?

Lake: She was referring to things I said back when I was on the campaign trail, talking about countries that have actually done things right for their people, and you can make the incredible argument that Hungary did. They put up fencing and walls to prevent the mass migration, mass invasion of Europe. Hungary is one of the few countries that is still intact, that is not seeing some of the massive problems of mass migration that has undermined the safety, undermined the culture, undermined the economies of many European countries. And she showed her cards there because it shows that she is pro-invasion of Western countries. She wants to see this continued border invasion of all countries of the world. It’s really the globalist agenda, and that is what she’s for.

You know, I don’t have a vote in Hungary, but I can tell you that I’ve been there, the people of that country voted for their leaders. It’s not up to the Representative that you just played to decide who Hungary votes for, but they are one of our great allies, and they are for peace. They are for ending the Ukraine, Russia war, which I know many of those folks in Washington, DC, who went after me that day, want to keep that war going. President Trump wants to see it end, Viktor Orban would like to see it end, and Viktor Orban has offered up Hungary as the location for any peace treaty that is signed. Why on earth, with a man like that offering to help us usher in peace, would we be spending American tax dollars trying to undermine his country? It’s insane, and anybody who suggests otherwise probably is insane as well.

Conradson: Exactly, and it looks– sounds more like she’s pushing for you and the United States Agency for Global Media to try to execute a regime change. Meanwhile, they’re screaming at you about accepting the results of a free and fair election, which I’m sure Hungary had when they elected Viktor Orban to that office.

Lake: On that note, I have inquired about what elections are like in Hungary, and I’m sure that it would be really upsetting to the gentle Congresswoman, they have one-day election paper votes. And they count there, right there, in small precincts, I guess is what we call them. So, they do have as close to fair elections as possible, not using the machines. And all of the problems we have, they don’t have, and so you’re right about that.

On Ruben Gallego’s unhinged rant:

Lake: What a disrespectful human being to use that kind of language in that role? You know, it’s just disrespectful. It’s an embarrassment to Arizona; it’s an embarrassment to our country. This is a guy who is part of a cartel family. It’s a fact: his father is a convicted felon, Mexican drug cartel trafficker, and that’s what, that’s where this guy comes from. And for him to speak in those profane terms like that, while sitting in the US Senate, it’s disgusting.

Mark Kelly, he’s, you know, made his— he’s made up his mind to put out content that was seditious, and he’s got a lie in that. He’s got to— he made the bed; he’s got a lie in it. And for this joker that you just played to come in and defend him, I’m not surprised. Low IQ, it should be an embarrassment. He says he went to Harvard. I’d love to see his transcripts, because that just shows he— when you have to constantly rely on profanity, it shows that you do not have a vocabulary that you can lean into.

The guy is a moron! And I’m embarrassed for the people of Arizona, and when we start to dig further into the election fraud that’s been happening for a long time in Arizona, I think there’s gonna be some hell to pay.

I just want the people of America to know I’m here in DC to be of service to the President of the United States. President Trump’s doing an incredible job. The media is trying to divide this country, tear it apart, and we’re going to make sure that the tax dollars going into this agency are used wisely, or not spent at all, because we don’t want to see, as I said, anti-American reporting going out, being funded by the American taxpayer. So, we’re working really hard. I try to keep people updated, and I really just appreciate being part of this administration and working to serve the American people and President Trump and the executive branch.
