ACCOUNTABILITY INCOMING: War Press Secretary Kingsley Wilson Confirms to TGP that Hegseth’s Investigation into Biden Afghanistan Withdrawal and Death of 13 US Troops will be Completed by Summer 2026 (VIDEO)

Department of War Press Secretary Kingsley Wilson on Tuesday told reporters that the Department of War’s investigation into Joe Biden’s withdrawal of US forces from Afghanistan is ongoing and expected to be completed by next summer, roughly five years after 13 US service members were killed under Biden’s watch.
Biden’s failed withdrawal also led to thousands of unvetted Afghan nationals flooding into our country on planes in the middle of the night.
As The Gateway Pundit reported, two National Guard members were shot near the White House on Wednesday, the day before Thanksgiving, in an ambush attack by an Afghan national. Both were rushed to the hospital, and 20-year-old Army Specialist Sarah Beckstrom tragically succumbed to her injuries on Thanksgiving Day.
Air Force Staff Sergeant Andrew Wolfe remains hospitalized in critical condition.
The shooter, 29-year-old Afghan national Rahmanullah Lakanwal, previously entered the country unvetted under Biden’s Operation Allies Welcome program in 2021 after the August 26, 2021, withdrawal.
In light of the recent tragedy, The Gateway Pundit asked Wilson during the first Pentagon New Media press briefing on Tuesday for an update on War Secretary Pete Hegseth’s investigation, which she says is being headed by Chief Pentagon spokesman and Senior Advisor to the Secretary Sean Parnell.
“He takes very seriously the responsibility to getting answers to the American people, so we are committed to that 100% and in summer 2026, the public will be able to have that report,” Wilson said.

Conradson: In May, the Secretary announced a new investigation into the Afghanistan withdrawal under Biden. In light of the recent events with one of these refugees killing a service member, is there any updates on that investigation?
Wilson: I don’t have any updates for you at this time, but I can tell you that the review that we’re doing into the horrendous Afghanistan withdrawal under the previous administration, the Biden administration, is expected to be complete by summer of 2026, and we are committed to ensuring that this review, unlike others, is much more unredacted, that the American people are able to consume the report for themselves and see what truly happened on that fateful day and that fateful withdrawal.
And we owe it to our service members to accomplish that. The review is being led by our Chief Pentagon spokesman and Senior Advisor to the Secretary, Sean Parnell, an Afghan veteran himself, and he takes very seriously the responsibility to getting answers to the American people, so we are committed to that 100% and in summer 2026, the public will be able to have that report.
As The Gateway Pundit reported, War Secretary Pete Hegseth announced that the Department of War is opening an investigation into Joe Biden’s disastrous withdrawal of US forces from Afghanistan, during which hundreds of ISIS militants surrounded Kabul airport.
Suicide bombings, which killed 13 US Service members and 170 civilians, were reported amid the chaos as Afghans attempted to enter the airport and flee the Taliban.
Defense Secretary Lloyd Austin, Joint Chiefs Chairman Mark Milley, and CentCom Commander General Kenneth McKenzie all knew about the planned Kabul Airport terrorist bombing at the Abbey Gate hours in advance, and they knew US forces’ lives were at risk.
The Gateway Pundit reported that the White House left behind $85 billion worth of US military equipment and Black Hawk Helicopters for the Taliban.
“The Department of Defense has an obligation, both to the American people and to the warfighters who sacrificed their youth in Afghanistan, to get to the facts,” a May 2 memo, signed by Hegseth, reads, noting that the incident has been under review for three months, and a “comprehensive review” is necessary. The goal of the investigation is to “ensure ACCOUNTABILITY to the American people and the warfighters of our great Nation,” the memo states.
