‘Sean Combs: The Reckoning’ premieres today on Netflix.

A rivalry between two rappers turned into a documentary series.

We have reported here on TGP on the upcoming documentary ‘Diddy: The Reckoning’, a four-part series produced by rapper Curtis ‘50 Cent’ Jackson and directed by Emmy-winning Alexandria Stapleton.

Now, Netflix has released the trailer for the series that examines the rise and fall of disgraced mogul rapper Sean ‘Diddy’ Combs.

Variety reported:

“The series’ official synopsis calls it ‘a staggering examination of the media mogul, music legend and convicted offender’.”

Diddy is back on the world’s screens for all the wrong reasons.

“The new trailer begins with footage of Diddy six days before his arrest in Sept. 2024 as he tells someone over the phone: ‘We need to find someone who will work with us who has worked in the dirtiest of dirty businesses. We are losing’.”

Diddy was convicted of two counts of transportation to engage in prostitution in his high-profile criminal trial.

He did get acquitted of the most serious charges of sex trafficking and racketeering.

“A presumably younger Diddy is heard later in the trailer saying: ‘Everything in life you are going to have people that are bad and people that are good. You have to choose your side’.”

Celebrated director Alexandria Stapleton told Netflix’s Tudum that ‘When Cassie [Ventura] dropped her lawsuit [against Diddy], I just thought this could go a million different directions. I wondered how she had the confidence to go out there against a mogul like Sean Combs. As a filmmaker, I instantly knew it was a stress test of whether we’ve changed as a culture, as far as being able to process allegations like this in a fair way’.
