JUST IN: House Overwhelmingly Rejects Al Green’s Impeachment Effort Against Trump – 70 Democrats Kill Measure (VIDEO)
The House of Representatives voted on a Motion to Table Texas Democrat Al Green’s resolution to impeach President Trump on Thursday, effectively killing the resolution, with many Democrats even voting against impeachment.
Green has already tried several times to impeach Trump since he took office in January.
Green first introduced articles of impeachment against Trump in February, just weeks after he took office.
“I rise today to announce I will bring articles of impeachment against the president for dastardly deeds proposed and dastardly deeds done!” Green said on the House floor in February.
Green later said in March that he planned to impeach Trump again for “incivility.”
His latest attempt, filed in the House on Wednesday, alleges abuse of power by President Trump by “threatening Democratic lawmakers in Congress with execution” and making “threats and vituperative comments against Federal judges, putting at risk their safety and well-being, and undermining the independence of our judiciary.”
This comes after Mark Kelly and five other Democratic lawmakers, all with military and intelligence credentials, told active-duty service members and intelligence officials in a recent video message that they have a “duty” to disobey “illegal” orders from President Trump. However, Trump has not given any illegal orders. This was an attempt to sow doubt and interfere with military operations.
Democratic Senator Elissa Slotkin (MI), the former CIA agent in the conspiracy, even admitted that Trump has not given a single illegal order to members of the military! Still, she threatened service members with thinly veiled warnings, comparing Trump to Adolf Hitler and suggesting they may face tribunals like the Nuremberg Trials. She further pointed to movies like “A Few Good Men” to intimidate military members into thinking twice before they follow this President.
Trump has repeatedly called for seditious conspiracy charges against these lawmakers– and even the death penalty for their attempts to incite a military uprising or a military coup.
23 Democrats voted to table the bill, and 47 voted present.
