President Donald Trump went scorched-earth on radical Rep. Ilhan Omar during a campaign-style speech Friday night in Rocky Mount, North Carolina, torching what he called a “made-up” story involving her son and law enforcement and accusing the Minnesota Democrat of peddling falsehoods to smear federal officers.

Speaking to a fired-up crowd in a perennial battleground state where Republicans are fighting to hold a critical U.S. Senate seat in 2026, Trump slammed Omar over her recent claims that police and immigration agents targeted her son.

“How do you allow that to happen? Ilhan Omar should be sent out of our country. She should not be allowed to be a congresswoman. She married her brother, either to stay or to get him into the country.

And yesterday, she, I guess, made up a story. She said the police attacked her son. She said they stopped the car. And the police said, “We never attacked him. We never stopped him.”

It was a made-up story. She’s a con person. She’s full of con. She said, “Zero.” She said, “You’re to get her the hell out of our country. That’s what you’re to do.”

She made up a story that the police stopped her son’s car.”

Trump’s remarks came as federal officials publicly dismantled Omar’s narrative, flatly rejecting her allegations.

Omar claimed during a local interview that her son, was stopped by ICE agents after visiting a Target store in Minnesota and was only released after producing his U.S. passport. She further alleged that ICE agents had entered a mosque on a separate occasion where her son was present—suggesting racial profiling against the Somali community.

“Yesterday, after he made a stop at Target, he did get pulled over by [U.S. Immigration and Customs Enforcement] agents, and once he was able to produce his passport ID, they did let him go,” Omar said.

“I had to remind him just how worried I am, because all of these areas that they are talking about are areas where he could possibly find himself in and they are racially profiling, they are looking for young men who look Somali that they think are undocumented.”

Those claims were immediately and forcefully rejected by the Department of Homeland Security and Immigration and Customs Enforcement.

“ICE has absolutely ZERO record of its officers or agents pulling over Congresswoman Omar’s son.

With no evidence, it is shameful that Congresswoman Omar would level accusations to demonize ICE as part of a PR stunt.

Allegations that ICE engages in ‘racial profiling’ are disgusting, reckless and categorically FALSE. What makes someone a target for immigration enforcement is if they are illegally in the U.S.—NOT their skin color, race, or ethnicity. Under the Fourth Amendment of the U.S. Constitution, DHS law enforcement uses “reasonable suspicion” to make arrests.”

Instead of retracting the false claim, Omar’s office lashed out at DHS, accusing ICE of operating as a “rogue agency beyond reform” and suggesting federal officials “may not have their records straight.”

Her statement doubled down on the accusation that ICE agents racially profiled her son and others despite zero corroborating evidence.

This news comes as Omar faces potential prosecution for immigration fraud after allegedly marrying her brother to help him obtain American citizenship.

Border Czar Tom Homan said in an interview last week on Newsmax that he had asked for the immigration records of Omar to be pulled for his review over credible allegations that the Somali refugee married her brother to help him gain residency in the United States.
