Jesse Kelly of “The First” discussed America’s affordability crisis. He talked about inflation and its effect on the economy.

He explained that not too long ago, before covid, people could afford to go out to dinner and the movies without the cost impacting their wallet.

He went on to explain that it is not the case anymore because of the impact the lockdowns in 2020 had on the economy. The printing of trillions of dollars had caused inflation to drastically increase.

The result was a significantly higher cost of living and a decline in the quality of life we once were used to.

“Standard of living is a real thing. What does that mean, standard of living? Well, how much food can you afford? Can you feed yourself? Can you house yourself? Can you clothe yourself? These are obviously the basics that matter to people, but it’s more than that,” Kelly explained.

“We want to do fun things too, and you know what, there is nothing wrong with that,” Kelly said.

“The problem we have right now is we remember better days. We remember the year 2019 because it’s not ancient history. We remember the days when we could afford to go to Red Lobster on a Friday night and maybe a movie afterwards, when that wasn’t a $300 affair,” Kelly explained.

Kelly explained that the average person does not have a real understanding of how the economy works when it comes to things like taxes, inflation, etc.

“Most people know, oh my goodness, I just tried to buy a plane ticket to go see my mom. I go every year for Christmas. And that’s three times what we were paying before,” Kelly explained.

“Right now, the American people are watching their standard of living go down because they can’t afford anything. Certainly not what they used to be able to afford,” Kelly continued.

The video continues with a clip from President Trump addressing the Nation recently about the economy. He explained that he is actively working to reduce inflation to make life more affordable for Americans.

“It is true that Democrats, because they are communists who don’t care about you, made everything worse. They certainly made inflation so much worse,” Kelly said.

Kelly also explained that we need to be honest that inflation actually started getting out of control during the covid lockdowns in 2020.

“If we are going to be honest, let’s be honest. And we are gonna have this talk, so we don’t ever make this mistake again. You don’t ever force your economy to stop,” Kelly said.

“There are things that are going to cause parts of your economy to stop, but that’s drastically different than government, federal, state and local, pointing a finger at their economy and saying, stop. Nobody go to work. Close your doors, lock yourself in your home,” Kelly explained.

“What about money? Don’t worry, we are just gonna print seven trillion dollars, eight trillion dollars. Oh, you are worried about your finances? We’ll pass a trillion-dollar spending bill and send you a check. That was the moment life became unaffordable for so many people,” Kelly continued.
