WATCH: Trump Says US was Prepared for Second Strike with “Armada like Nobody’s Ever Seen Before” – Maduro was “Bum Rushed So Fast” He Couldn’t Hide and Taken Via Helicopter onto Ship – Warns Mexico, “Something’s Gonna Have to be Done”

President Trump on Saturday joined Fox and Friends to discuss the capture of Venezuelan dictator Nicolas Maduro, detailing how he was “bum rushed” and unable to escape to his safe room before US forces took him on board the USS Iwo Jima to face trial in New York. 

Trump announced the invasion and capture of Maduro and his wife early on Saturday morning, and the two have since been indicted in the Southern District of New York, the Gateway Pundit reported.

Trump told Fox that no US forces were killed in the operation, and he personally watched it in the middle of the night from Florida.

While speaking to the Fox and Friends panel, Trump also revealed that US forces found Maduro in a “fortress” of a house, where he attempted to flee like a dog, “but he got bum rushed so fast that he didn’t get into” the safety space.

“We had, you know, massive blow torches and everything else that you need to get through that steel, but we didn’t need it. He didn’t make it to that area of the house,” Trump added.

Trump: You know, that we had nobody killed. Was amazing. I think we had nobody killed, I have to say, because a couple of guys were hit, but they came back, and they’re supposed to be in pretty good shape. But that we had nobody killed, that we lost no aircraft, you know, everything came back, we got it all back. One of them was hit pretty hard, but a helicopter, but we got it back. But it just was the right time to do it. We had to do it because it’s a war. We’re losing 300,000 people a year. We don’t lose that much in a war, okay, if you look. And we had to do it, but he was in a house that was more like a fortress than a house.

It had steel doors. It had what they call the safety space, where it’s, you know, solid steel all around. He didn’t get that space closed. He was trying to get into it, but he got bum rushed so fast that he didn’t get into there. We were prepared. We had, you know, massive blow torches and everything else that you need to get through that steel, but we didn’t need it. He didn’t make it to that area of the house.

Trump further revealed that Maduro and his wife are being taken to New York to face trial for their crimes.

“They’ll be heading to New York. You know, they were indicted in New York,” Trump said before revealing that they were taken prisoner on board the USS Iwo Jima.

“They went by helicopter in a nice flight,” Trump joked.

But they’ve killed a lot of people. Remember that. They killed a lot of people and even people in their own country. They killed a lot of people to maintain power. He’s a very vicious person.

Trump further revealed that the massive armada surrounding Venezuela was prepared for a second wave of attacks, but “this was so lethal, this was so powerful that we didn’t have to.”

And frankly, probably thought we were going to have to do it, but we were prepared for a second wave going in.

When asked if the operation was a message to Mexican President Claudia Sheinbaum, Trump said, “It wasn’t meant to be, we’re very friendly with her, she’s a good woman, but the cartels are running Mexico.”

After highlighting the death and destruction caused by drug cartels flooding the United States with drugs and criminals through Mexico, Trump added, “Something’s gonna have to be done with Mexico.”

Trump: Well, it wasn’t meant to be, we’re very friendly with her, she’s a good woman, but the cartels are running Mexico. She’s not running Mexico. The cartels are running Mexico. And we can be politically correct and be nice and say, “Oh yes, she is.” No, No, she’s very, you know, she’s very frightened of the cartels. They’re running Mexico. And I’ve asked her numerous times, would you like us to take out the cartels? “No, no no, Mr. President, no no, no, please.” So, we have to do something, because we lost— the real number is 300,000 people, in my opinion.

You know, they like to say 100,000. 100,000 is a lot of people, but the real number is 300,000 people, and we lost it to drugs. And they come in through the southern border, mostly the southern border, a lot, plenty come in through Canada too, by the way. In case you don’t know, but they come in through the southern border, and something’s gonna have to be done with Mexico.

President Trump is set to address the nation following the attack this morning. The scheduled 11 am ET press conference has been delayed and is expected to begin shortly as of publishing this story.
