White House Posts Video of Karoline Leavitt Praying Before Press Briefing

The White House posted video to social media of Press Secretary Karoline Leavitt offering a prayer before heading into the Brady Briefing room for Friday’s press briefing. Among the blessings the ever-ebullient 27-year-old Leavitt asked for was the ability to have fun during the briefing (which she did.)

In video posted by Special Assistant to President Trump Margo Martin, Leavitt is seen holding briefing papers in each hand as she prays aloud with several staff members gathered just on the other side of the door to the press room.

Leavitt, “Lord Jesus, please give us the strength, the knowledge the ability to articulate our words, and have fun and be confident in Jesus’ name. Amen.”

An example of Leavitt having fun at the briefing came in a Q & A about a bird dive bombing Fox News White House reporter Peter Doocy during a live shot Friday morning on Fox and Friends:

Leavitt served in the the first Trump administration’s press office and was press secretary for the Trump 2024 presidential campaign beginning in January 2024. Leavitt was on maternity leave for the birth of her first child when Trump was shot in the ear at a campaign rally in Butler, Pennsylvania on July 13, 2024. After watching the attack at home on TV, Leavitt canceled her leave and returned to the campaign trail.

Leavitt is the youngest person to serve as White House press secretary, but she has quickly established a reputation as a knowledgeable, unflappable, charming but firm spokesperson even as she battles with reporters and has dramatically restructured the dynamics of the White House’s relationship with the media.
