A new assessment from the FBI suggests that some Venezuelan government officials are ‘likely facilitating’ members of the violent gang Tren de Aragua from Venezuela to the United States to undermine public safety in the U.S.

Immediately after taking office, President Trump designated Tren de Aragua as a foreign terrorist organization in his executive order, Designating Cartels And Other Organizations As Foreign Terrorist Organizations And Specially Designated Global Terrorists.

The executive order stated:

Over the years, Venezuelan national and local authorities have ceded ever-greater control over their territories to transnational criminal organizations, including TdA.

The result is a hybrid criminal state that is perpetrating an invasion of and predatory incursion into the United States, and which poses a substantial danger to the United States.

The Gateway Pundit reported on a leaked security briefing obtained by Emerald Robinson and provided to Trump officials that exposes the Maduro regime’s closeness to Tren de Aragua.

What thse documents show is that Tren de Aragua is not just a criminal organization, but a paramilitary wing of Venezuela’s communist regime.

A Fox News exclusive report sheds more light on how officials in the Venezuelan government are using designated terrorists to undermine the safety of U.S. citizens.

Per the Fox News exclusive:

A senior administration official exclusively shared with Fox News Digital Wednesday unclassified portions of the FBI’s classified intelligence assessment of the Venezuelan government’s relationship with Tren de Aragua.

Fox News Digital has learned that the FBI assesses that some Venezuelan government officials are likely using Tren de Aragua members as proxies for the Maduro regime in an effort to destabilize Chile, Ecuador, Peru, Colombia and the United States. The official said the FBI assesses that this demonstrates Venezuelan President Nicolás Maduro’s willingness to violate the territorial sovereignty of Venezuela’s neighbors to advance his regime’s policies.

The FBI assesses that in the next six to 18 months, Venezuelan government officials likely will attempt to leverage Tren de Aragua members in the United States as proxy actors to threaten, abduct and kill members of the Venezuelan diaspora in the United States who are vocal critics of Maduro and his regime.

The senior administration official added, “These findings should shock Americans but not the law enforcement community. They reflect the sentiments of numerous other intelligence assessments across multiple agencies.”
