Germany’s Oktoberfest in Munich SHUT DOWN After Killing, House Fire, Bomb Detonation and a Suicide Put the City in High Alert

Beers, not bombs!
Police in the German city of Munich announced that the Oktoberfest venue will finally reopen early on Wednesday evening, after it was shut down all day for a credible bomb threat.
Investigators have been probing the threat to the world-famous event linked to a fire at a house in the north of the city.
BBC reported:
“The house was rigged with explosives and a 57-year-old man is suspected of starting the fire as part of a family dispute.
His body was later found at a nearby lake and police said he was carrying a backpack apparently containing an ‘explosive device’.”
This morning, there has been an explosion in a house in north Munich.
The police also found a backpack full of bombs in the house.
This led to a bomb threat note about Oktoberfest. So, the festival has been closed until at least 5pm.

“Officers closed the annual beer festival for much of the day after a letter from the suspect had been found with ‘a non-specific bomb threat relating to the Oktoberfest’.”
Explosives specialists with sniffer dogs searched the site during the day, after which Police announced that the world’s biggest folk and beer festival would re-open at 17:30 local time.
The emergency operation is still ongoing in the north of the city, and potential links between the incident there and other locations are being investigated.
