Connecticut State Senator Saud Anwar (D), a practicing physician and immigrant from Pakistan, is facing backlash after being photographed at the radical “No Kings” protest holding a sign that read: “Let cholesterol do its job.”

The message, widely interpreted as a wish for President Trump to suffer or even die from health issues, has drawn outrage across Connecticut and beyond.

For a sitting lawmaker—and a medical doctor sworn to protect life—to endorse such rhetoric is both shocking and disgraceful.

WATCH: Massive “NO KINGS” Rallies FUNDED by George Soros

The “No Kings” protests, which claim to stand against “authoritarianism,” have repeatedly shown themselves to be hotbeds of extremism.

Funded by George Soros and other major left-wing donors, and championed by radical activist groups, these rallies have been less about protecting democracy and more about vilifying political opponents.

With millions funneled through Soros-backed networks, the events are carefully orchestrated campaigns designed to shift public perception and intimidate anyone who disagrees with their agenda.

Anwar’s decision to carry a sign, essentially hoping that Trump’s health fails, proves just how toxic the movement has become.

What makes the episode even more troubling is Anwar’s professional background.

As a doctor, he has taken the Hippocratic Oath to heal patients, not weaponize disease as a political insult.

As a legislator, he is responsible for setting an example for constituents—not lowering himself to mob-style attacks that cheapen public discourse.

The suggestion that cholesterol—something tied to serious conditions like heart disease—should be “allowed to do its job” against a political opponent is far beneath the dignity of public office.

This moment also highlights the growing double standard in American politics. Democrats regularly accuse conservatives of using inflammatory rhetoric, yet here we have a Democrat state senator actively mocking the health of a former president and cheering for the possibility of his demise.

If a Republican official had held a similar sign about Joe Biden, it would dominate national headlines for weeks.

The silence from the left on Anwar’s actions speaks volumes.

At a time when political division is already at dangerous levels, this type of language only escalates the situation.

Elected officials must set the tone for civil debate—not feed into hatred that normalizes wishing death upon opponents.

Senator Saud Anwar owes his constituents, the medical community, and the nation a full and public apology.

No doctor and no public servant should ever treat life as a political slogan. Connecticut deserves better from its elected officials.
