A driver crashed into the Secret Service gate at the White House on Tuesday evening.

The unidentified suspect was arrested.

The car was towed after it was searched and cleared.

The Secret Service said the suspect drove a vehicle into the White House barricade at 17th & E. St, NW at 10:37 pm ET.

Authorities reportedly used a bomb detection robot to inspect the vehicle.

The vehicle was cleared.

“At approximately 10:37 p.m., an individual drove a vehicle into the Secret Service vehicle gate located at 17th & E St, NW, in Washington, DC,” Secret Service said.

The individual was arrested & the vehicle was assessed and deemed safe. Our investigation into the cause of this collision is ongoing,” The Secret Service added.

President Trump was at the White House on Tuesday evening when the driver plowed his vehicle into the barricade.

On Tuesday evening President Trump participated in a Diwali celebration at the White House.
