Wisconsin College Reportedly ‘Blows Off’ Congressman Over Claims of Stymieing Student’s TPUSA Chapter Efforts

Following the political assassination of Turning Point USA (TPUSA) founder and CEO Charlie Kirk, the organization has continued to add new chapters at educational institutions across the country and the world at a breakneck pace.
Jocelyn Jordan, a student at Beloit College in Wisconsin, hoped to start a chapter on her campus but claims the college has not only prevented her from doing so, but has failed to address a harassment campaign she and her classmates have been subjected to for daring to engage in free speech.
Some of the disturbing harassment was shared on social media, showing Jordan’s face photoshopped onto Nazi propaganda.
The photos attached to this post were made of me — my face photoshopped onto Nazi propaganda, with nazi connotations, and just overall disturbing nature— and shared on Instagram after I started the process of forming a Turning Point USA chapter at Beloit College.

Rep. Derrick Van Orden (R-WI) reached out to the college to request additional information, but claims the school ‘blew off’ his efforts to intervene.
Additionally, the student, Jocelyn Jordan, accused her school of failing to adequately respond to a harassment campaign she and her classmates have been facing as a result of their efforts to start a new TPUSA club on campus. The harassment initially included disturbing imagery posted on the group’s new Instagram page, referring to Jordan and her co-founders as Nazis, Ku Klux Klan members and White supremacists, but eventually devolved into threats.

Jordan and her classmates were directed by school administrators that there were a list of requirements they needed to meet before they could formally establish the club, among them – finding a faculty advisor. Every faculty member the students have asked thus far, including the dean of students, refused to help them, according to Jordan, who said she was advised to establish a group that does not have the Turning Point name attached to it.
Jordan also said a leading member of the student government on campus said that even if they were to find a faculty advisor, they still would not be able to establish a Turning Point chapter on campus because actions from the national level TPUSA organization supposedly violated Beloit College’s “Student Statement of Culture” policy.
Van Orden discussed his efforts to get to the bottom of the issues on X sharing, ““It is deeply troubling that @Beloit_College
has refused to allow students to start a @TPUSA chapter on campus and even more disturbing that Jocelyn, the student leading this effort, has been targeted and harassed for simply expressing her views.”
“After Jocelyn announced her intent to start a TPUSA chapter, she was met with vile online attacks, including a doctored image depicting her as a Nazi. This kind of hateful rhetoric has no place in civil discourse. It is the same toxic behavior that has fueled violence across our nation, including the assassination of Charlie Kirk and the attempted assassination of President Trump.”
“Our office reached out to Beloit College in good faith to discuss this matter and were blown off. That is unacceptable. Every student, regardless of political belief, deserves the right to organize, speak freely, and participate fully in campus life without fear of retribution.”
