Key Donetsk bastion of Pokrovsk will turn back to being called by its Russian name Krasnoarmeysk.

After a 21-month long battle, Ukraine has just lost one of the most important Donetsk cities it still holds, a 60k citizen-strong road and rail hub that is vital for logistics and supply.

Control of the so-called ‘gateway to Donetsk’, would allow Moscow to severely disrupt Ukrainian supply lines along the eastern front.

The accelerating conquests of Russian forces have now yielded the largest conquer since Bakhmut.

That’s another city that Ukrainians won’t be forced to surrender during peace negotiations.

Ukrainian troops reportedly abandoned 1,000 of their fighters to die in the cauldron in Myrnohrad, part of the Pokrovsk agglomeration.
