Contrary to media reports, the Justice Department is not investigating DOJ official Ed Martin and Federal Housing Director Bill Pulte.

Last week, it was reported that a federal grand jury in Maryland is investigating whether DOJ official Ed Martin and Federal Housing Director Bill Pulte improperly appointed individuals to assist in investigating mortgage fraud allegations against Adam Schiff and others.

MS Now reported that Deputy Attorney General Todd Blanche is overseeing the investigation.

“According to two sources, the office of Deputy Attorney General Todd Blanche, who reportedly has grown concerned about unforced errors in Justice Department investigations, is helping to oversee this new Maryland probe,” MS NOW reported.

However, according to former DOJ official Chad Mizelle and John Solomon of Just The News, the DOJ is not investigating Martin and Pulte.

Democrat Senator Adam Schiff (CA) is under investigation for mortgage fraud, specifically occupancy fraud.

The criminal referral, submitted to the DOJ by Housing Director Bill Pulte, accused Schiff of falsifying bank documents and property records over a period of 16 years in order to score more favorable mortgage terms and rates.

The Gateway Pundit’s Joe Hoft was first to report on Schiff’s mortgage fraud back in April 2023.

In 2000 Schiff was elected to Congress and has served as a US House member from the state of California ever since. Schiff reportedly purchased a home in Maryland with his wife in 2003 stating they would occupy this home for 12 consecutive months as their “primary residence”. Despite this claim, Schiff continued to vote in California.

Schiff refinanced his home in 2009, 2010, 2011 and 2013 claiming the Maryland home was his primary residence. In 2009, a House Ethics investigation alleged that Schiff had done this, and Schiff argued it was an error. He subsequently repaid the exempt taxes to the state of Maryland.

Christine Bish, the California realtor who broke the story on Schiff’s mortgage fraud, was subpoenaed to appear before a grand jury in Maryland.

Bish thought she would be disclosing information about Schiff’s mortgage fraud, however, she was asked about her communications with Martin and Pulte – and thought the two were the subject of the DOJ’s investigation.

However, according to former Bondi Chief of Staff Chad Mizelle, the DOJ is not investigating Martin and Pulte.

“Completely wrong,” Mizelle said on X.

“DOJ knows that when it indicts Schiff, he will immediately attack the evidence. Say it’s tainted. Argue about the chain of custody. Say the prosecution is improper,” Mizelle said. “So what does a smart prosecutor do? Figure out exactly who is talking to who so there are no surprises.”

“DOJ isn’t investigating their own. They are getting ready to drop a bomb on Adam Schiff,” he said.

John Solomon of Just The News also reported that Pulte and Martin are not under investigation.

Just The News reported:

The Justice Department is not investigating its chief pardon attorney Ed Martin or top housing regulator Bill Pulte for their role in probing Sen. Adam Schiff, and a recent grand jury subpoena was simply designed to secure documents about Schiff’s mortgages and ascertain their origins, a source with direct knowledge of the probe told Just the News on Sunday.

The source — as well as Attorney General Pam Bondi’s former chief of staff — directly disputed reports in The Associated Press, CNN, MSNOW and other legacy media last week suggesting that a grand jury was probing the conduct of Martin and Federal Housing Finance Agency Director Bill Pulte in pursuing mortgage and bank fraud allegations against the California Democrat senator.

Those reports were prompted by revelations that Christine Bish, an activist who filed an ethics complaint against Schiff alleging he illegally claimed two homes as his primary residence, that she received a subpoena seeking information on her role in the scandal.

“Ed Martin and Bill Pulte are not being investigated by a grand jury,” the source told Just the News on condition of anonymity because he or she was not authorized to talk to the news media. “The Bish subpoena related to documents relevant to the Adam Schiff mortgage fraud investigation.”

Chad Mizelle was fired from the DOJ earlier this year.

Christine Bish stands by her story.
