President Trump slammed Illinois Governor JB Pritzker and Chicago Mayor Brandon Johnson during a more serious moment at the White House Thanksgiving Turkey Pardoning Ceremony on Tuesday.
He still used some humor in the traditionally silly speech given by Presidents before granting clemency to a prize turkey from the Presidential Flock, calling Pritzker a “big fat slob” and Mayor Brandon Johnson “incompetent.”
He said he would tell more jokes about Pritzker, but “when I talk about Pritzker, I get angry because he’s not letting us do the job.” He continued, “You know, some speech writer wrote some joke about his weight, but I would never want to talk about his weight. I don’t talk about people being fat. I refuse to talk about the fact that he’s a fat slob. I don’t mention it.“
During his speech, Trump also went after Joe Biden, Nancy Pelosi, and Chuck Schumer.
The President was touting his record on making major US cities safe, including Washington, DC, and Memphis, Tennessee, by surging federal troops and agents, when he tore into Chicago’s leaders for opposing his efforts and pointed to a recent incident on a Chicago train.
As The Gateway Pundit reported, 50-year-old felon Lawrence Reed, who had previously been arrested 72 times but set free by leftist judges, doused a woman in gasoline and lit her on fire on a Chicago public transit train. The man was even released back into the streets following his last arrest in August after a Cook County Assistant State’s Attorney warned Cook County Judge Teresa Molina-Gonzalez that Reed had a lengthy criminal history and that his next crime would “likely be violent.”
But Molina-Gonzalez told the prosecutor, “I can’t keep everybody in jail because the State’s Attorney wants me to.”
“They burned this beautiful woman riding in a train, a man was arrested 72 times, 72 times, think of that,” Trump said.
“And they’ll let him out again,” he continued. “The liberal judges will let him out again.”
Trump further highlighted the death and destruction that took place in Chicago this past weekend, where “only like seven people were killed this week,” he said sarcastically.
The Gateway Pundit reported that just last Friday in Chicago, at least eight people were shot in an “unsanctioned after-gathering,” following the Chicago Christmas Tree lighting ceremony at Chicago’s Millennium Park amid a “teen takeover” event with hundreds of juveniles rioting and attacking police.
“Governor Pritzker, if you’re listening, let’s get your act together. Invite us in. We’re going to make your place so safe, you’re not going to have these crimes that are making the newspapers and the front page of every newspaper and television, story, news story. We’ll make Chicago a safe place very quickly,” Trump said.

And they’ll let him out again. The liberal judges will let him out again. But we’re ready to go. You know, we’ve been moving toward Chicago. We have a governor that thinks it’s wonderful that only like seven people were killed this week. But we are moving toward doing it. We’re going to have— if crime gets; it’s horrible what’s happening in Chicago. We could make Chicago a safe city in a period of four weeks. In a period of eight weeks, nine weeks, 10 weeks, it would be totally safe. And the people of Chicago want us to go there, and if you look at the crime that’s taken place in Chicago, in the last two weeks— just take a look— It’s on the front page of every newspaper. It’s out of control. The mayor is incompetent and the governor is a big fat slob. He ought to invite us in, say, “Please make Chicago safe.” We’re going to lose a great city if we don’t do it quick. Make Chicago— we’ll do the same thing as we did in DC, the same thing as we did everywhere we’ve gone. It’s become almost instantly safe, and I want to do it in Chicago.
So, Governor Pritzker, if you’re listening, let’s get your act together. Invite us in. We’re going to make your place so safe, you’re not going to have these crimes that are making the newspapers and the front page of every newspaper and television, story, news story. We’ll make Chicago a safe place very quickly. I looked at the various cases granting mercy, discovering that the terrible trauma that everyone’s going through, and I had a little bit of a Pritzker joke. I was going to talk about Pritzker in size, but when I talk about Pritzker, I get angry because he’s not letting us do the job.
So, I’m not going to tell my Pritzker joke. They have a very cute little joke. You know, some speech writer wrote some joke about his weight, but I would never want to talk about his weight.
