Far-Left Rep. Jayapal Suggests Everyone BUT Americans Built This Country: “Immigrants from Somalia, India, Latin America and Africa Built this Country”

Screencap of YouTube video.

Far-left Rep. Pramila Jayapal (D-WA) shared a revisionist history of America during an appearance on MS NOW.

Jayapal’s ‘white-out’ ignores the contributions of European immigrants and White Americans and instead claims immigrants from Somalia, India, and Africa built this country and made it great.

Jayapal asserts, “The majority of Americans across the country, regardless of political party, know that immigrants from all over the world, Somalia, India, wherever they’re from, Latin America, Africa, that immigrants have built this country and make this country what it is today.”

Watch:

In addition to clearly not having a grasp of history, Jayapal is also extremely confused about law and order and is attempting to justify illegals flooding the country by playing word games by suggesting “being undocumented” is not a crime by conflating those who have overstayed their visa with those who came into the country illegally without being vetted.

While being undocumented alone is civil, ICE and CBP can still detain and deport people for it, and people who entered without inspection can be (and frequently are) criminally prosecuted under § 1325 (“Entry Without Inspection”) in addition to being deported.

In fact, Jayapal recently announced a bill, The Dignity for Detained Immigrants Act, to eliminate the ability for DHS to even detain illegals.

Not only that, she wants American taxpayers (even the ones she won’t credit for building the country) to foot the bill by providing illegals with taxpayer-funded lawyers.

“This bill brings dignity, justice, oversight, and accountability to the detention system by repealing mandatory detention, prohibiting the detention of families and children in family detention, phasing out the use of private detention facilities and jails, and requiring DHS to establish civil detention standards.”

“The bill creates a presumption of release and imposes a higher burden of proof to detain primary caregivers and vulnerable populations.”

“The bill also mandates the DHS Inspector General to conduct unannounced inspections and requires DHS to admit Members of Congress to detention facilities for unannounced inspections.”
