The immigrant mother of White House Press Secretary Karoline Leavitt’s nephew has broken her silence after being arrested by ICE agents last month.

As The Gateway Pundit’s Jordan Conradson reported, 33-year-old Bruna-Caroline Ferreira was taken into custody at a Louisiana ICE facility after being arrested in Revere, Massachusetts. She shares an 11-year-old child with Leavitt’s brother, Michael.

Ferreira is estranged from the family, having reportedly separated from Michael roughly ten years ago. The young boy lives full-time with Michael in New Hampshire, according to an administration official.

Homeland Security spokesperson Tricia McLaughlin revealed that Ferreira had a “previous arrest for battery” after entering the country on a tourist visa, which expired in 1999. She appears to have been eligible to stay under the Deferred Action for Childhood Arrivals (DACA) program established by Obama.

An immigration judge ordered the release of Ferreira last week. Her bond was set at $1,500 she fights deportation proceedings.

Ferreira went on CNN Friday night to detail her ordeal. When asked what she would say to Leavitt, Ferreira responded by taking a nasty shot at the Press Secretary’s Catholic faith before whipping out the victim card.

“I’d say, just because you went to a Catholic school doesn’t make you a good Catholic,” she said. “You are a mother now. How would you feel if you were in my shoes? How would you feel if somebody did this to you?”

As The Daily Mail reported, Ferreira went on to trash the White House as “cruel” for arresting her, before again portraying herself as a victim.

“I don’t even have a parking ticket, and I’m so proud of it,’ she said, “And now my child is watching them broadcast this 24 hours a day, seven days a week, as a child he must be terrified.”

“I don’t know what’s going on in his little mind, and I just want him to know that none of those things are true.”

Ferreira then spoke out about her time in ICE custody and took a shot at the Trump administration’s immigration policy.

“I can’t wrap my mind around it,” Ferreira stated. “I’m not the first, and I’m not going to be the last.”

“There are families and children being separated daily. Where does it end?”
