One of the most prominent House Republicans has split with President Trump over Saturday’s killing of an armed ICE protester named Alex Pretti in Minneapolis.

Rep. James Comer (R-KY), the House Oversight Committee Chairman, appeared on “Sunday Morning Futures” and told host Maria Bartiromo that following this latest incident, Trump needs to consider telling ICE to pack up and leave Minnesota.

If not, he argued that ICE officials will remain in harm’s way and more “innocent lives” will be lost.

“If I were President Trump, I would almost think about, OK, if the mayor and the governor are going to put our ICE officials in harm’s way and there’s a chance of losing more, you know, innocent lives or whatever, then maybe go to another city and let the people of Minneapolis decide, ‘Do we want to continue to have all of these illegals? Are we going to allow our governor, attorney general and mayor to get away with this?’” Comer told Bartiromo.

Hearing Rep. Comer’s take on the incident sent MAGA into a huge fury, with many accusing the congressman of surrender.

As The Gateway Pundit’s Cassandra Macdonald previously reported, ICE agents were involved in a shooting in South Minneapolis on Saturday afternoon.

Multiple law enforcement sources confirmed to Fox News’ Bill Melugin that agents shot a person near 26th Street and Nicollet Avenue, leaving the individual “down” with medics rushing to provide aid. The incident occurred in front of Glam Doll Donuts.

The deceased suspect was later identified as 37-year-old Alex Jeffrey Pretti, an ICU nurse.

A new video emerged showing how a struggle ensued as multiple agents attempt to subdue Pretti, tackling him to the ground near parked cars and snowbanks. The man resisted, and agents surrounded him.

Gunshots were then heard in rapid succession.

Following the shooting, massive riots unsurprisingly erupted in Minneapolis.
